About Me
Born in Brazil and currently based in Milan, lyric soprano Thaís Costalonga is distinguished by her vocal versatility and rigorous musical training. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music (Biennio) in Lyric Opera at the Conservatorio di Musica “Giuseppe Verdi” di Milano in the class of Professor Sandra Buongrazio. For the 2025/2026 season, she is a member of the Coro Sinfonico di Milano and has been selected for the Camerata Bardi Vocal Academy (Campobasso/Sulmona) for upcoming 2026 productions of Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, where she will perform the roles of Nella and Suor Genovieffa.
Her recent activity in Italy includes a successful 2026 concert tour as a soloist in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, performing in venues such as Chiesa di San Luca Evangelista and Sant’Ambrogio (Paderno Dugnano). Thaís holds a Bachelor’s degree in Lyric Singing, Choral, and Orchestral Conducting from UNICAMP, having refined her artistry under mentors such as Angelo J. Fernandes, Eiko Senda, and Flávio Leite. Her competitive record includes the "Best Interpreter of Carlos Gomes Aria" award at the XV Estímulo Cantores Líricos and reaching the semifinals of the 23rd Maria Callas Brazilian Singing Competition in 2025.
Her extensive stage experience includes solo roles in Dido & Aeneas, Le Nozze di Figaro, La Cenerentola, and Moreninha. Beyond her vocal career, her decade-long experience as a conductor for various ensembles in Brazil (2014–2024) provides her with a unique polyphonic perspective and exceptional collaborative skills. Thaís is also a multi-linguist, performing fluently in Portuguese, English, German, and Italian, which further solidifies her presence as a versatile artist in the global operatic market.
